Antje Sauer – a digital visual selection of works
still
STILL is a visual narration about cinema as a room appearance.
While producing the work I asked me, which parameters influence
the finding-process of pictures. The phenomenon of silence plays
thereby an exceeding role. Absence of any audience and movies
immerses rooms in a kind of vacuum – detached from the river of time.
Architecture encloses rooms without windows without any connection
to a 'reality' outside of the building. STILL is the confrontation with
materiality, with the pureness of things, light, textures, colours.
The pureness of room. What remains in a picture of this specific
atmosphere? Is it only a two-dimensional representation of cinemas?
The body of work includes an artist book
(104 p., 25 x 21 cm, self published, 10 copies),
a video-still (5:36 min. Loop), which extended the possibility
of a visual narration about room up to the fact of time.
